Scott Vachon Clarifies His Comment.

Sometimes one just has to wonder what can legitimately be defined as rational thought. I found myself especially stymied in this regard following what I found as a troubling post on Facebook by Scott Vachon.

That post suggested to me that Scott approved of people showing up at presidential events armed with handguns and assault weapons. Scott has since assured me that I misread his post, and I apologize for having misinterpreted his succinct, and he assures me, incredulous comment.

  1. Something tells me that a lot of the "bring your weapons" advocates would change their tune real fast if it were "liebruls" bringing the guns.

  2. I don't know you, Ron, and I'll make clear that Scott is my brother-in-law. However, he and I are far from in agreement about politics. I am a raging liberal and he and I have sparred on many issues, but I'm guessing Scott's response of defriending you was due to the fact that your misinterpretation of his comment was turned into a public blog smear. As I've said, Scott and I disagree politically, but I KNOW he would never advocate for guns at a public meeting of the local school board. If you know Scott at all, you'll recognize that he's not that radical. He cares deeply about the students and the community which is why he serves on the school board, unlike some people on other school boards I've encountered (and I'm a teacher; I've encountered many) who are on the board to try to protect their tax dollars. I might suggest a public apology is in order.

  4. Why am I not shocked that you took the cowardly route and deleted that comment?

    Typical.
